Watchmen
Wow.
The intricacies of human nature, fate, and value, are brought forth in raw, gory, and unforgiving brutality. This film throws a messy series of haymakers and hooks that all seem to land time and time again. Towards the back half of the film the pacing threatens to push past its limits and I could almost feel it slipping through my fingers, only to eventually fit flawlessly into a slot of its own creation. The films final act ties everything together in such a way that it's facilitation can only be deemed as an act of brilliance.
I did not see this film in a theater and yet I feel as if the space it will occupy in my mind in the coming days is, in itself, worthy enough to be called payment of admission.
If you have not seen this movie yet, I urge you to consider doing so, as soon as possible.
