Spirited Away
Chihiro, huh? Her real name's Chihiro? Can't beat the power of love.
On the first look this is just a beautiful movie with creative shots and interesting characters, a beautiful little movie for all ages. But I also believe that Spirited Away symbolizes how people have alienated. How capitalism makes people lose their identity, their name. If anything destroys humanity it will be it's greed. No Face probably also represents a person with no personality who'd adapt to their surroundings. While No Face was in the wild, he was lonely, in need to connect with someone but calm, once he entered the bathhouse he started to change. Greed of others started consuming him as well. He just wanted more and more. In society like that the common language could always be money, so he just gives other people gold to stay with him. Until he meets Chiriro again, the only person who ever showed him something genuine. From that moment on all of the people who were there for the money became unimportant, he just wanted to feel something real, something that wasn't normally in the bathhouse. Once No Face left the bathhouse he became the basic blank old self. When he arrived at Yubabas twin sister he wasn't hostile no more, he lived normally and happily, he found his peace. No Face was never the problem, it was the bathhouse. I could talk about more stuff and maybe I will but gotta shower now. Or maybe I'm looking too much in the details and this was just a silly unpredictable anime
