what is the battle between man and god? my answer is amadeus. its the ultimate story of an unstoppable force with salieri having to come to terms with his failures and mediocrity in the face of a giant like mozart. his contempt is not just pure envy or jealousy— it’s humility yet no matter how abhorrent it becomes; the emotion is humane. performances are like no other; the tragedy and the comedy (double points for his omnipresent laugh). even in his prime, salieri was little more than a filler in the lull. yet like icarus; with salieri as his wings of wax, mozarts enormity fell with his health and his loves. a truly tremendous, once in a lifetime experience.
