my god this is the perfect shakespearean adaptation. the mise-en-scene all throughout the film is unmatched and tatsuya nakadai’s screen presence speaks volumes louder than sirens. akira kurosawa was a genius and i am excited (to say the least) to venture through the rest of his catalogue. in one word— superb.
