Ran

After watching, I honestly do think this is one of the most visually stunning pieces of film I’ve ever seen. Ran is a very interesting take on a Shakespeare’s King Lear story, instead they set it in a sixteenth century Japan and it works very well. I really do need to watch more Kurosawa films after this because the colours in this film were used amazingly. Every single shot was beautiful and I rank it alongside Barry Lyndon in the visuals category. It is also very well acted and the battle scenes were executed perfectly.
