Mission: Impossible - Fallout
"Some flaw deep in your core being simply won't allow you to choose between one life and millions. You see that as a sign of weakness. To me, that's your greatest strength."
M:I - Fallout is a step up from the previous movie in every way. McQuarrie finds a happy medium between its action and storytelling. I know this sounds stupid, but bear with me. This movie really reminds me of The Dark Knight in the sense that the pacing is incredible. Everything about both movies is engaging, including the slow parts. One of the things I like about Ethan, not just in this movie but in the previous 3 movies, is that they make him human or relatable. With his hesitation before committing to a dangerous mission/chase to caring for his team and those who are innocent/who we're never a part of his mission like the police officer in France. Of course, the stunts are even better in this one, and it's probably PEAK M:I stunts. I think one of the things we take for granted in this series is the sound design and color grading. The color grading alone makes the movie work great, and when the aspect ratio changes for the bigger stunts makes it even more BEAUTIFUL.
