Dreams
I started this film with so much enthusiasm because I was waiting patiently to stop procrastinating watching it and I wanted to enjoy it 100% because this is my first Kursoava's work and I have the desire to immerse myself in his work and study it. After reading the synopsis for the film, which is his real dreams turned into this movie, it seemed so familiar to me because I like to write mine down (reminds me of David Lynch).
I was quite surprised, with every passing minute you don't know what to expect and that keeps you on your toes. Exceptional details everywhere but what impressed me the most was the nature and all the possible colors that were used. This is an incredible film in itself, it's nice when a person knows how to interpret what's going on in his head! Every dream carried an interesting message, but I was most impressed by the second dream "The Orchard" and the last dream "Village of the Watermills" because in my opinion one of the connecting messages is that we shouldn't lose our connection with nature. The second dream is a warning about what we lose when we ignore nature, and the last one is the solution and ideal for how we should live in order to be real people. I think everyone should watch this film at least once in their life. Here are some of my favorite quotes:
1)"-You don't have electricity?
>
-We don't need stuff like that. People are suckers for convenience. They think the more convenient the better, and they end up throwing out what's truly good.
>
- But what about lights?..
>
- We've got candles and linseed oil
>
- ..but night's so dark.
>
- Yes. That's what night is supposed to be. Why should night to be as bright as day? I wouldn't like nights so bright you couldn't see the stars."
>
2)"People today have forgotten they're really just a part of nature. Yet, they destroy the nature on which our lives depend. They always think they can make something better. "

3)"Waiting for dying isnt living"
