5 Centimeters per Second
Felt like reading someone's diary they never meant to show anyone, yet it ended up between your hands. everything about it is so intimate...from the heavy silence on the chairs of a train station, to the lingering feeling of an innocent kiss under a cherry tree on a snowy night. from the cosmos sky to the sea tides crashing beneath unspoken confessions.
Loving someone quietly...watching them love someone else, the inevitable question of is it better to speak or to die. turned thier feelings into something that feels almost like a diary. living something you can’t fully share. unrequited love so sacred you're uncertain what the future holds for it. certain feelings both shared but time had different plans for it. so you hold it tight in the deepest parts of your soul anyway. and some feelings can’t stay hidden like unsent messages... a diary can hold anything for so long and never ask for more, a real heart can't. the movie captured all of that painfully beautiful.
The dreamy animation carries both joy and deep sorrow. every scene holds meaning. but instead of feeling happy, you'll feel hurt. and that's what makes the wound a little more beautiful than it actually was.
