One of the most well shot, beautiful heart-achingly movies I have ever seen

One of the most well-shot, beautiful movies I have ever seen. The colour scheming in this movie, so bright and colourful in some scenes and so nostagically muted in some other, I truly do see lynch's spirit in the film. There isnt a right answer for what the backrooms is. But in my opinion the rooms are built from exactly what Mary said. People picking the easier, safe path of misery over and over again until all thats left is distorted memories and grief you can no longer place an origin on. I think my theory is supported by the marvelously shot scene of Mary's childhood home, her source of her trauma being solidified as a room in this hellscape, something we can infer as her trauma and her fear solidifying in her as an intricate part of her that she cant just dust off by 'choosing the right path' the one time I think thats what the movie is trying to tell us. Sometimes, it is too late. Most times we as people walk down the same path, away from fear, away from hurt that we dig ourselves in with our continuous footsteps, over and over again until its too late. Even if we change direction, even if we try to go the other way, the hole we have made drags us down, till we fall, until we are alone, and its just us and the very thing we were running away from. That is why the backrooms is so intricate and detailed and never ending. Because so many of us have gone down the wrong path, and so many of us have let fear rule them until it literally consumed them. Its like the backrooms is mocking us. Remembering us by the things we wish we never lived through (in Mary's case her childhood home and in Clark's case his store, symbolizing his failure and mediocrity) This may not be the most concise review haha but I think my theory of the backrooms just being an amalgamation of fears, shame and regrets of people is proven by the literal personification of Clark's shame, guilt and anger in the form of the captain. His biggest fear. Having to dance around shamelessly to silly jingles to attract customers to just keep himself alive, while his true dreans wither away due to his cowardice and fear. This movie isnt just amazing 'for a debut' It's literally one of the best horror movies to come out. And im glad I got to see it on a big screen Chiwetel Ejiofor, your performance was terrifying and you will be remembered for this role. 10/10 many positive notes haha :)
