Ran

every time i watch a Kurosawa film i continue to be amazed at the sheer scale of his productions. Ran is a breathtaking epic with some of the most stunning camera work and use of colour i've ever seen. the battles are grand and momentous. everything is directed with such deliberate care that it all comes together for what i think is Kurosawa's most monumental. King Lear was my favourite Shakespeare in high school and Ran might be one of the best Shakespeare adaptations ever put to film.
