Almost Famous
"I didn't invent the rainy day, man. I just own the best umbrella."
In life, situations, whether amazing or downright horrible, are sometimes inevitable. But there's always something to do about it. If it rains, bring an umbrella. Any situation could be fixed if you just had the 'umbrella', or in this case, an optimistic mindset, or anything else to keep yourself dry.
Going into this, I had no idea there were two versions of this film. The theatrical, which is the cut version meant for the mass media, and the 'bootleg' version, which adds a flat 40 minutes, filled with character development and interactions in the group. I involuntarily went with the bootleg version, and it was so worth it spending the extra 40 on this film. I really dont get how these reviews seemed to criticize how this movie felt dragged on, or too long. In the first five minutes, I was entranced with this film. Whether it be from Zooey Deschanel or that odd out of place Alvin and the Chipmunks song in the intro, I dont know. The movie just sped through for me, and I wanted more.
What a great movie.
