Queen & Slim

Queen and Slim is beautiful like so so so beautiful, The best soundtrack out of any film I’ve watched no doubt in my mind like wtf it blends so well with the film, the protest/sex scene has like the perfect use of music aswell. Kaluuya just continues to prove why he’s one of my favourite actors but Jodie Turner-Smith is also great, the chemistry between them is so visible. Not a single flaw with Queen and Slim apart for the plot, I think that’s an issue for me that many black films in the 10s had cause they try to focus on the cinematography of the film to convey their message while also providing a detailed plot but many of them give like a weird amount of depth in their plot which makes it kinda shit but good at the same time whereas moonlight isn’t like that it’s rather a simple plot with an easy to understand message. However apart from the plot this film is perfect especially the cinematography and soundtrack which are perfect perfect.
