despite the NUMEROUS times i’ve seen this movie i’ve never picked up that remmick whispers “peace and love” to cornbread as he’s pissing JEKSMSK

it’s been a long time since i’ve seen this, and it’s similar to how i remember. loses it footing pace and plot wise around the halfway point, slightly regains it towards the end. objectively, get out knows what it wants to be WAY more than us (which in turn, know what it wants to beWAYYYY more than nope), but it’s still a fun watch. he experiments more with true horror here which i found super successful. I would have liked to see more of how the rest of the world reacted-i think that would have helped to root act 2 into 3.

congratulafucklations to whoever gets to bounce on that….and happy 2027 oscar win ryan gosling

OBJECTIVELY this doesn’t hold a candle to sinners. still confused how this won. LOVED this movie. it launches you straight into the action, but sometimes to the movie’s own detriment. without some character building before the action, i found myself struggling to keep up in the beginning trying to process characters AND plot points that help build the world. watching this movie was incredible exhausting, but that’s the exact point he’s making. these long, drawn out scenes help build the exact amount of nail-biting tension i’m supposed to feel. panning shots that don’t let up as dicaprio is jumping buildings, running, ect help carry the action and emotion forward, almost literally. the humor i found incredibly successful. it’s never out of place, and lives in tandem with the fucked-up people as a nice reprieve. act two takes an incredible sharp turn that i really enjoyed-all of a sudden, you’re watching a different movie. it’s a nice pace change, and matures with the characters as they go through the events of the film. i absolutely loved leonardo’s performance. if it wasn’t for sinners, i think the award would of gone to him-he brings the character depth and change, but never fails to miss a comedic beat. many times during the film, we watch him process the events happening live. this person feels fleshed out and three dimensional-someone real i’d meet on the street.
