This was a lot of fun! Animated remakes are so tricky. The original film is a classic at this point. If you risk changing what worked so well in any way there might be outrage. However, this dang near the exact same movie. For me that makes this feel somewhat pointless. Although, I suspect the point is just to make money. Also is there something so bad about animation that it needs to be remade into live action? Sometimes animation works better to begin with.

I still need to digest this a bit more to get a grasp on it. However, I have really enjoyed every film Ari Aster has crafted and Eddington is no exception. A great take on the western with so much weirdness in that final act that it really did scratch a very particular part of my brain. I love the unexpected and he continues to deliver that. Also revisiting this time period in this way worked really well for me. Reminded me very much of the doom scrolling going on in 2020.
