local theatre kid (╹◡╹)♡ my reviews aren’t meant to be deep and professional, they’re merely just my thoughts :)

Wow. Remick and Lemmon were absolute powerhouses in this movie. The scene where Lemmon absolutely destroyed the greenhouse in order to find the bottle of alcohol felt so raw and realistic, as if I was watching someone close and personal to me do that. I think that this movie did an amazing job at portraying the deep, ugly side of addiction, ESPECIALLY when it comes to how it impacts your children and family. Not only that, it showed the horrific things you can do to even just get a drop of alcohol. When addiction takes over your mind, you’ll do whatever it takes to get your fix. I’m also HAPPY THAT I FOUND MYSELF ANNOYED AT HOW LONG IT TOOK FOR THEM TO FIX THEMSELVES. That’s a good thing! Because recovery is not a linear, easy, short process. It can take people years. It can take so many setbacks to get to the point of being fully sober. Gosh, this movie was incredible. EDIT: Not to mention, I HAVE seen so many relationships like theirs. Couples who become codependent on each other and who end up destroying themselves over their shared addiction, whether it be to alcohol or some other sort of drug. Gosh it was so jarring!

“I was good. I was really good.” So many words. Wow. As someone who has english as one of their greatest loves, this movie hit me right in the center of my heart. It deepened the love that I already had for literature and wow. I DON’T KNOW AHHH!!! Also…Neil is so relatable. His passion for acting is SOOOO ME!1!1!1

Why couldn’t they just go to Amsterdam :(

*“Andre, can you please pick up the phone?”* I hate it when people misinterpret this movie. School shootings are not something to be romanticized. Mental illness is not something to be romanticized. This movie is a tragedy. Two kids that could’ve been saved, who had a future, who ended their lives because they couldn’t get help. They believed that they were hopeless and that the only way out was to hurt others and to end their lives :( This movie did a great job with the found footage kind of feeling. It really gave you a feel for the 90s and I think that the acting was incredible.
