Half Man

Very ambitious work! Gadd is such a treasure & just easily one of the best TV makers we have as a nation, not only does he have something to say & then some( very prescient stuff too) but his writing & structuring is something I’d expect from a seasoned writer that’s been making work for over a decade if not more. This is such assured work, so confident & brazen, knows exactly where to deploy shocks & twists, knows when to add dramatic turns & surprises. It’s all plotted & structured almost brilliantly which is interesting cause traditionally things like that don’t really make for good art in a lot of ways but I think where in an age where a lot of creators & artists are just mining from their own lives & experiences putting that on a page & it all just coming off all naturally! Gadd has proven himself once again to be one of the most interesting voices on Television right now, exploring so many real life themes & issues of the world right now especially when it comes to men. Yes it’s rough & really uncomfortable but I haven’t seen anyone really explore these things in this nature, so brutally honest before, so uniquely toxic in a sexual & violent nature, Tackles the sheer damage men do to each other in ways that I’ve never seen done before, two different sides of toxic masculinity but how both must take responsibility for their actions. A hard show to watch but incredible none the less, so important too & I feel like every man should watch this, we could all learn something from this peculiar masterpiece of a tv show! Everyone put on a A star acting performance but Jaime bell is on career best form here! Such an underrated actor already, truly a fantastic performance! Bravo
