Moonlight
I believe this film shows a perfect representation of someone who tries to change their life but a past lover/love makes them fall back into old selves that lives inside of them. In the first act, we see Chiron getting picked on by little kids, being abused by his mother, being taken in by a guy who wants to help him and experimenting with his sexuality for the first time. In the second act, we see him still have a bad relationship with his mother, still getting bullied and picked on (near the end of the act, he snaps and gets arrested) and seeing him and his best friend Kevin at the beach experimenting with each other. In the final act, we see Chiron take on a whole new personality, he's the complete different person then who he was at the start but the moment he got the phone from Kevin, he immediately fell back into who he was in the beginning of the film. By the end of the film, we see Chiron confess to Kevin that the reason he came back to his home town was because of him and since Kevin touched him at the beach, he hasn't been with anyone else. This film is so beautiful and was so well done, i absolutly love and adore it.
