Demolition
Jake Gyllenhaal loses his wife and decides the best way to deal is by smashing everything he can get his hands on — cars, vending machines, you name it. It’s like grief therapy, but with a sledgehammer and zero instructions. Somehow, it works. The movie gets that healing isn’t neat or pretty; sometimes you gotta break stuff before you can put yourself back together.
Michelle Williams shows up and is basically the “please don’t lose your mind” squad, which honestly we all need. The vending machine scenes? Low-key the most honest therapy sessions ever. Weird, messy, but real — and definitely worth a watch if you’re into seeing someone learn how to feel again by destroying stuff.
4.5 stars because sometimes life’s chaos is the best kind of therapy.
