Baby Driver
Seriously debating between 4.5 and 5 stars.
Ultimately, this film is the reason I want to make films. Every moment of action is perfectly shot and scored, the pacing is perfect, and I could not second-guess a single editing choice.
Despite all that, I have to see the flaws. The screenplay can feel messy. Debora is a very flat character and it's hard to see why she sticks with Baby throughout. Less of a flaw of the movie, but some of the reputation the actors (Elbort, Spacey and Foxx) makes it a little harder to recommend.
Anyway. Inject that opening scene with John Spencer's Blues Explosion into my veins. It's perfect.
This is getting 5 stars purely out of sentimental value. If I watched it for the first time it would be 4.5.
