Hamnet
No idea what I was going into besides from the synopsis because I’m uncultured and know nothing about Shakespeare with the exception of Romeo & Juliet but who doesn't know about that. I thought this would be a sad romance film but it was a sadder family-oriented film about grief and acceptance of a loved one’s passing. I also didn't know Jessie Buckley was in this because I didn't recognize her from the poster and only realized once I heard her beautiful Irish accent
We all grieve in our own way; some externally others internally. Which makes it easy for us to misinterpret how others are feeling if you don’t express your grief on the same wavelength, especially when you yourself are overconsumed by anguish
There's this one scene in the final act that was super touching and was my absolute favorite part of the movie, but I'm not really sure what exactly it's supposed to symbolize. Could be interpreted as you are not alone in your grief, and everyone also lost someone dear to them, so there’s a sense of community and a ‘you are not alone’ thing
