The Wicker Man

hooptober 12 6/31 criteria: cult or conspiracy film WOW! when i tell you how surprised i was watching! i think folk horror may have become one of my favorite genres because of how much there is to unpeel, especially the paradoxes. the absurdity of it all feels so layered and intentional. i got very medieval folk revival energy from this film, and of course, i can’t pass up anything scottish. this film is idyllic yet eerie, especially since this is probably the best atmospheric wise horror film ive seen, it’s such an experience. the ending scene is imprinted in my mind now, it’s chilling how emotional it becomes and how much rawness is shown
