Obsession
I'm an OG indie supporter.
I don't even know where to start. This film is simple but executed amazingly. The script is spectacular. I never felt bored or tired; it kept me on my feet. You can't tell me you can cut one scene from this movie. Also this movie was really uncomfortable.
SPOILERS
Positives include literally everything, but especially the acting. Everyone is raving about indie, but what about my boy Michael? His performance was solid, not on the level of indie, but he's still an amazing actor. Also, the pacing is incredible. The script is also fantastic. I loved how they weren't afraid to show and explain why Bear is the villain. I really liked—and hated—when they showed Bear just pounding Nikki. It shows that this is terribly not okay, and the person he was pounding was the real Nikki. I did feel bad for Bear when we found out his friend was hooking up with Nikki.
The negatives could be the ending; I wasn't a big fan and wished we saw Nikki living a happy life. I can't complain too much because it was made on a $750K budget, but I wished I got scared, and they did more kills. Like when Nikki just shoots someone, I didn't really like it; I wished she did something more brutal to him. My last negative is that this movie is simple... don't get me wrong, I love this film, but when everyone was raving about it, I was expecting more complex elements.
