Adolescence
Very powerful. Although the direction in the one shot episodes and the incredible acting may drag people like me in who love film and tv this was not made for me. It is made for everyone who has young children, girls or boys. It really shows the dangers of the online generation and also where adults in these kids lives may fail. This is a subject I feel very passionate about. I know there is a lot of online discourse from people claiming that the kid should have been POC (I’m sure you can guess the type of people who hold this opinion) but the way Jamie (Owen Cooper) looks very much plays into the message of this series, it is intentional, because it could be any child, even the most innocent seeming ones. This is about the plague of “manosphere” or “red pilled” men who are killing our culture and taking young women and girls lives literally and figuratively. I have had so many discussions about this limited series (again it’s a subject I am passionate about) it is important to talk to these young boys because it has become increasingly easier for men to find like minded men in the internet age and it is scary. But ultimately Jamie is a victim too, he’s a victim of this idiotic propaganda. I think this is a must watch not just for the message but for the incredible acting, writing and filmography. Make no mistake this is not a who done it, it’s a why done it
