The Social Network
A big fat “Mark Zuckerberg is extremely arrogant and an asshole” and a well made and interesting biography drama, but it didn’t have the impact on me I was hoping for. The only bit of moderate emotion I felt throughout the movie was when Eduardo was cut off, but I can’t even feel sorry for the guy because he probably was paid substantial compensation and he now has a massive fortune thanks to Facebook (rightly so of course).
I was also let down by the fact that we didn’t see more of the social and personal consequences Mark’s immature and arrogant behavior can or might actually have led to in his real life. That might just be because he really didn’t do anything other than working on Facebook tho, hence why he didn’t experience any consequences in his life outside of Facebook, because it might not have even really existed…
Overall I was disappointed, especially in the fact that it wasn’t more “psychological” as it is classified, and as the opening scene implies (really pulled me in which might be why I’m disappointed that it didn’t continue like that throughout the film). I was also very disappointed by the soundtrack. Can’t deny it’s a well made film, just not my cup of tea, so 3 stars feels justified.
