Arrival
Wow, what a perfectly crafted movie. I'm just sitting here in complete awe. The more I think about this film, the more I fall in love with it. Everything has purpose in this.
The title card being at the end to parallel non-linear memories, as if to say the movie hasn't ended, but rather just begun because you will continue to think and rewatch and experience this movie again and again. All the small hints dropped throughout, like Ian reading the opening passage to Louise's book,
"Language is the foundation of civilization. It is the glue that holds a people together. It is the first weapon drawn in a conflict."
and it coming back later when the Heptapods say they offer weapon. They are really offering their language.
All those little details eventual lead to the realization of what is going on. I'm not sure I have had a greater experience while viewing a movie than when I finally figured it out. I cannot wait to rewatch this a pick up on everythin hint I missed or didn't understand at the time.
