Writer/Director 18 The art life is a great life, it’s coffee and cigarettes maybe some red wine. It’s catching ideas and translating them to one medium or another.

I can’t have an honest review quite frankly watching it in a full theater with lots of snacks was distracting all I know is that the emotional beats of the film fill a lot of themes of hope and hero’s in places you don’t see them but unfortunately it makes the mistake of not trusting the audience and the actor even though Ryan Gostling produced it, the film still tried to make artificial humor that I didn’t find funny, felt like I had to force a laugh apart from that really well made and interesting story and the cinematography I mean the color palette alone at first seemed jarring that’s why I put off watching it but then seeing the film the palette really blend in nice all together like a more meandering and warm space odyssey which I think the atmosphere of the film was going for, will definitely rewatch sometime soon.

Still slaps

I’m underwhelmed it’s really well shot it’s a really interesting interpretation of crime noir it’s just it felt pointless I don’t see a reason the film was made. The only conclusion I can come to is from my girlfriend “we all need to shut the fuck up more” that’s the only theme I can infer roughly apart from that this film just feels it was made with no spine and no dreams but a really genius DOP

I really enjoyed this short. I think the sound design was hilarious and very interesting unless it came with no sound like the version of The General I watched and they added it. As well as very important information about the art world said it reminds me of the echo chamber artists repeat from that one play where he said “one can’t discuss pollock without reading it (birth of a tragedy) one can’t discuss anything without reading it”. Simple that you need to be civilized and have a wide array of knowledge and understanding into multiple pop culture and references to visual aesthetics with true meaning and effort to be a real artist. So important to the art world told in a very comical Godard-esque way I love the way this film was shot and edited it was beautiful.
