Barry Lyndon
One of the greatest films of all time.
I’ve been watching all of the Kubrick films I deem an important part of his filmography (The Killing onwards) in chronological order, taking me through some high and lows - all to reach Barry Lyndon. This was significant thanks to the film’s 50th anniversary, and I’d more or less been waiting for a cinema release due to the occasion all year long. Thankfully, there were a few showings close enough, and I’m proud to say I watched this one on the big screen, and I urge you all to do the same, as there’s no better experience than watching this masterpiece in all its glory.
After more or less always putting the incredible 2001: A Space Oddysey on the high pedestal of Kubrick’s greatest work, I believe it’s safe to say Barry Lyndon now takes the crown.
