Warfare
I liked it for what it was, I understand how people can be upset by how it, in a way, made the Navy SEALS look like heroes and i’m not saying I sympathize with them but I’m also not saying I don’t. Some Navy SEALS, without a doubt, committed horrific war crimes but some men who volunteered, fell victim to American propaganda, who were simple patriots who wanted to serve their country. I do believe they should’ve taken into consideration how graphic and brutal it could’ve turned out but I also think people don’t realize that not ALL Navy SEALS committed war crimes. I sympathize with the innocent Iraqi families whose homes were destroyed and the innocent children whose lives were lost but I don’t think the movie is bad by any means. I think it depicts the tragedy and reality of GWOT and how it affected people in it. The Iraqi war was a tragedy, all around. The entire film, I was stuck on thinking “Dick Cheney is an asshole”. The war was unnecessary but brutal, people’s lives were lost and it deserves to be talked about.
