I see the necessity of departure; and it is like looking on the necessity of death.

Impeccably acted. Terrifying movie but a MUST-watch. The color palette that surrounded Chris with cold blues and fake-innocent pastels—visually isolating him before the horror even started—was a very important detail, I think. The poeticness of it all was also so brilliantly executed. The final scene of him raising his hands in surrender despite being the victim is probably one of the most powerful scenes in cinema I've seen to date. It really highlights how violence is seen as such only when the oppressor finally starts fighting back. The topic of racial prejudices is still something very, very important for cinema to shed light on.

ventured out of my comfort zone for this just to realize why i stay in it
