Oldboy
Insane film from start to finish
Theres so much to say. Mi-do is poorly written at times however is also hypnotised yet I can’t see the angle that this is a misogynistic film. Not one single person is this is aspirational and drawing a binary view such as seeing a protagonist and an antagonist is highly reductionist in thinking. If anything it’s holding a mirror to a society that commodifies women rather than celebrates it.
The end piece here is something else and manages to top the intensity that the film has near constantly met from the get go.
