It’s absolutely subtext galore . It reminds me a little of *The Piano Teacher & Repulsion combined .* Perhaps my favorite Catherine Deneuve performance , she is incredible . The performance is a little like Isabelle Huppert too . Just repressed bourgeois women with hidden desires ; and transgressive sexual behaviors , behind their exteriors . You will not find a scene where Catherine doesn’t PUT THAT SHIT ON !!! I can smell that *Yves Saint Laurent* from a mile away … she is wearing it like a suit of armor . Genius work .
