all anna ever wanted was to feel the love she once felt from her husband, when his heart was still as pure as a child. so, she clinged onto every trace of it. no matter how absurd or unreal it was, she just wanted to feel his love again. although its never stated, its kinda easy to see that seans father is a bit distant. he isnt mentioned after one scene and his mother is frequently seen smoking. so, he came to the conclusion that he could never feel love as himself, so he starts to act like hes annas dead husband, sean. but once he sees the truth, he realizes he did not want to carry seans soul, but only seans love for anna. i see this film as two people who cross roads on the search for love. one(young sean) who believes that he could never feel love as the way he is, and one(anna) who thinks she could never feel the love she once felt. but its still very confusing in my opinion. but this perspective seems very heartbreaking and emotional for me. nicole kidmans acting was insane! i can totally see why this film is controversial but you must lack basic comprehension to see this film as pedophilic.
