The Handmaiden

at long last, i have cross this film off my watch list.  and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it. the film borders on 3 hours but it was one of the lightest films i’ve watched. and it stays true to my expectations of korean cinema, in which it kept subverting my expectations and blindsiding me with twists, not only i wasn’t expecting, but also was so delightful to see unfold one after another.  powerful, sensual, and ultimately, thrilling. i absolutely loved it.
