Sinners
Ambitious, bold, and stylish, with an irrevocably loud beating heart. Kinda everything a horror movie should be in 2025. There are movies that fit into this idea of “Elevated Horror” but some movies transcend that and elevate Horror itself as a genre, and Sinners absolutely does that. The first act, thoroughly builds this world, introducing each character as someone to care about, the score was so emotive, and set the tone perfectly. And of course the movie goes on to feature some really incredible sequences, it feels like Ryan Coogler never loses his vision, his voice echoes through this movie, and says what needed to be said all while providing chilling scares and redefining what a vampire flick can be.
