What a deeply moving emotional experience I just witnessed, it felt like I was in the dining room during that scene(every cut to a close-up of Roxanne’s face is electric) And then the diner scene, just fucking amazing acting and writing. And all from a premise that seemed ripe for corny, shallow melodrama. A beautiful film with ambition, heart, and execution. What great chemistry between the mother and daughter, the big sister and little brother. The relationships portrayed here are so true. It is impossible to turn this movie off during the second half. Raucous applause.
