I waited to watch all of them before saying this, but I absolutely cherish these films. One minute, they’re funny and corny, and the next they’re reflective and giving off brilliant messages. Each is as memorable as the last, and all three have such a distinct personality to them. They all have memorable climaxes, and they all feel so nostalgic. They constantly played in my house when I was younger, and I’m sure they’ll pop in again in the future.

For me, this is the ultimate childhood film. I could endlessly quote this, there are just so many moments I remember watching over and over again. And it’s strange for a film like this to have so much heart, when it also has so many gags.

The first Wimpy Kid starts this trilogy that I love so much off very well, much more than I remember. I do love the other two a lot more, but this wasn’t bad at all. It really has its moments, and it sets up the overall plot for the franchise well.

The absolute height of modern cinema greatness. What a picture.
