The Void
The Void opens with a woman being shot in the back with a shotgun and set on fire, but that’s nothing. What ensues is total chaos, insane, violent and totally unpredictable chaos. Practical effects, costumes and set pieces are the main feature of this film going from one extreme to another until we’re faced with a room full of bloody, surgically botched, fully conscious people who cannot die, doing everything they can to attempt suicide. There are images here that will linger on like nothing else. The audience I was with, including myself were not prepared, to say the least. But it is honestly one of the most fun horror film experiences I have had in a long time.
