Dune: Part Two

I’ve been thinking about this over the past couple of days and I can honestly say now, for sure, that this is one of the greatest sci-fi films I have ever seen. A technical marvel, a masterpiece of the genre, and just un-fucking-believable in every sense of the word. The acting was top tier, everyone pulled through, I mean what did we expect with a cast like that. The cinematography is just unbelievably gorgeous, I was just constantly in awe by what I was seeing. Grieg Fraser is just fucking incredible, and that’s an understatement. It’s so awesome that he’s Australian too, it’s extremely inspiring. Him deciding to shoot the harkonnen arena fight scene in black-and-white infrared was just pure genius, and looked absolutely mind-blowing. Also, the story is just extraordinary, I have no knowledge of the books, but I am just absolutely in love with this story. I was sceptical about the Paul and Chani love plot originally, but to my surprise it was so compelling and added so much more depth and emotion to the film. This film is just epic on all fronts, and Denis delivered again in spectacular fashion. I honestly have no words for how phenomenal this film was. Breathtaking special effects, accompanied with stunning cinematography, unbelievable performances and an incredible story, what more could you ask for? Truly sci-fi at its finest, I will definitely be getting another watch in soon!  5/5.
