The only things I knew about The Odyssey were just things from* [O Brother, Where Art Thou?](https://boxd.it/2b3I) *Not sure yet if this clears that, but time will tell. Chris Nolan is probably the most famous living director behind maybe only Steve Spielberg, so it is inevitable that his movies will get nitpicked to death. And people have been so fucking annoying about this movie. Complaints of historical accuracy (from conservatives crying about a black woman and a trans man being in the movie, and from reddit users about Benny Safdie’s armor looking cooler than real-life armor) are bogus. This movie is an adaptation and becomes Nolan’s own thing the second he decided not to have the entire movie be spoken in Greek. People complaining about historical accuracy in this movie are losers and should not have their opinions taken seriously. This movie was so sick. An epic in every sense of the word. Each chapter of the movie built tension very effectively and the movie never got dull despite its indulgent runtime. The only gripes I could think of come from the script. Nolan has never impressed me with his dialogue writing, but any minor grievances with this movie are forgiven due to just how sick this thing is.

This would probably by annoying, stupid, and a waste of time had I not consumed copious amounts of Looney Tunes as a child.

Didn’t love the movie like I was hoping to, but wow does it look fantastic.
