Weapons

I love movies with chapters! I love seeing events that I’ve experienced earlier in the film from another character’s perspective! I love piecing stories together! I love unreliable narrators!  Zach Cregger knocked it out of the park with Barbarian but I think he blew it out of the water with Weapons. This movie was equal parts haunting and hilarious with some incredible gore effects. I was completely sold on this movie from the security footage teasers and was absolutely in love with the whole movie. Our theater erupted with laughter and applause as the kids chased down Gladys; I’m always happy to cheer on everyone’s pals, Michael Myers or Jason Vorhees as they slash their way through innocent people but what a treat to cheer with a crowd as the villain is torn to shreds. This might be an all timer. Just a banger year for movies.
