The logistics of life are complicated. So much of what we do just feels like planning on a day to day basis. What the rest of the week, the month, the year looks like. It’s only much later that what we actually experience comes back as memory and gains meaning, and we are often so unreliable to ourselves and what we actually experienced. Very often we remember the who and the where, but what was said, why things happened, the curvature of someone’s face, the sound of their voice feel like an artifact of something that may or may not have ever happened. It’s beautiful and terrifying at the same time that we are the authors of our own story. Deeply haunting and gorgeous stuff.
