It really pains me to hate on indie films by black artists but this wasn’t exactly the best. Definitely a couple really good horror moments. And definitely a great surprise with the daughter. But overall not very good and I knew that going from the beginning. It had time to change my mind but it did not. I was not engaged at all. Had potential.

HOLY FUXKING SHIT, YOOOOO WHAT A BANGER I thought going into this I would know what happens cause I watched the iconic kill count video on this years ago. Yo when I tell you that final plot twist my jaw was on the floor. With movies like this even if it’s been out forever I don’t wanna put spoilers into the review. If you can go into this blind please do. So many great storylines that all intertwine together to also trick you on what’s actually happening, cause at every moment I didn’t know who to trust at all. Idk if this was supposed to be scary scary but I was super scared while watching it. Had to turn the lights on for some scenes yo. Very well done horror. Good jumpscares. Modern day saw could never be this good. I would know cause I’ve seen modern day saw and it’s not even close. It’s cause they focus more on the traps and not the storyline. This one deadass doesn’t even go deep into ANY of the traps at all. It’s all storyline and it’s so so good. I would have loved to see more trap stuff but I’m very happy with what was given Great acting, like really good stuff from our two main guys. Amazing character work. This is just a very well made movie. It has a distinct style and it stays with it throughout its entire run. Idk how in the hell this guy made the aquaman movies. Not even close to being good. And lacking style. Idk if this is considered one of the greats of classic/modern horror but it definitely should be. That scary ass pig mask

Thank you for killing the villian, oh my gosh I’m so so tired of hero’s sparing the bad guy. Unless he has glimpse of good then there’s no reason to keep him alive. I actually really like the way she went about it talking the girl out of doing it and when she leaves she does it. Okay everybody was hating on this movie and I can see why, it’s INCREDIBLY surface level, but I don’t think it’s that bad or even an extremely bad movie. It’s just not anywhere near Superman level good. But like it’s nothing to write home about and I’d NEVER wanna rewatch this again. Comparing it to Superman, what a nothing villian like wow a genuine nothing burger villian like I didn’t care for him at all nor did I ever find him cool, like I really cannot emphasize the word nothing enough. Compared to the amazing likes of Lex Luther now that was an awesome villain and a great performance by Nicholas Hoult. I didn’t think the girl was worth anything besides her one scene when she tricks the guard to opening the cell and she beats him up. Lobo was also a nothing character. He did genuinely nothing and it’s so funny to think about. If you take his ass out there’s only like one part where he’d be needed but besides that like he didn’t need to be here. It was just so Jason could finally play him I guess. Also is that lobo’s personality in the comics? Idk he was very stereotypical but if that’s how he his then I have no problem. I wish we had more super girl being supergirl. David Corenswet has a really good face for Superman. Love both of their suits. An okay movie but at least I was entertained for most of it and I can’t say the same for other movies. Chill movie not the same stakes as Superman.

When I first saw the trailers months ago and I mean earlier in this year months ago the first of the first teasers I had decided this wasn’t gonna be a good movie and I didn’t like it but then randomly idk my dumbass decided to defend it before seeing it after I had seen its bad reviews, maybe it was one of those fucking aliens who got to me Disappointment day Not only was it super boring it was incredibly long and just kept going I liked to think cause I love nope I like alien sci fi movies but the ones I keep watching are just not good, the movie could of used more alien stuff At the end with everyone’s reactions to what was going on why did everyone just have the same shocked expression, I feel like everyone wouldn’t react in the EXACT same way, thank you nun for giving us something different Such boring alien designs, the same old big eyed gray people, I was expecting better from the creator of ET Speaking on being the creator of ET, I’m astonished Spielberg created such a boring dull film. Like it had “cool” moments I suppose but like wow. One really strong take away is the long one takes this movie had. They had a lot of them and I really enjoyed them. Many scenes when the camera didn’t cut around too much. The scene with Josh O’Connor sneaking around outside was cool too. Yeah. Colman Domingo was just wasted The villain sucked, like why did he just give up at the end, that truly pissed me off The plot is the worst part on this. I wasn’t confused. I was just like, why? So much talking occurred in rooms facing the camera and nothing happening. Like bro what was going on??? It’s like a Netflix original movie had a little bit of creative juice but not enough and that’s really bad coming from Spielberg. I could write more on this but I truly don’t wanna waste my time. It’s hard to explain on a base level why this isn’t good. My friends are saying the dialogue is bad in the movie? I don’t think that’s inherently the problem of the movie at all. I think it’s honestly probably weird because of what is happening, with like Emily Blunts character basically being possessed for a couple seconds and blabbing on. I never had a noticeable problem with it. I definitely pick up on bad dialogue. The plot was so shit maybe it warped their minds.
