The Plague

I am so glad I’m not a kid anymore holy shit. this was such an unsettling, disturbing, genuinely uncomfortable watch. I think this one will sit with me for a while to be honest. The dialogue felt incredibly real, like I could genuinely imagine boys at school talking like that. Especially that little blond twerp Jake (the actors performance was so good my god) just made me want to punch him basically every time he appeared on screen. His characterization was great as well, with a bit more nuance and not just the typical school bully type (or in this case water polo type?), which again was enhanced by the performance itself. I also loved the music they chose. it just added so much to the unsettling feeling you had throughout the whole 95 minutes and made the events so much more disturbing and suffocating. Just an excellent movie, I can only say wow. but like a very very disturbed wow.
