Ben-Hur

Now this, this is a movie. And to think this was made in 1959 blows my mind. No green screens, no CGI, nothing fake, everything is authentic... they even built a fake ocean in a dome for this movie, that's some straight up Truman Show stuff! That chariot race scene was/is one of the most impressive technical film feats I've ever seen, and to think that stuntman really did get flung over his chariot and almost die for real, speechless. And to tie it all together, the overarching theme of grace from God through Jesus Christ, the movie goes from love and friendship, to hate and revenge, to forgiveness and grace, tell me another movie that can or has even done that. THIS IS a masterpiece and something special that does not get nearly as much praise as it should, likely do to people not liking or agreeing / believing in the underlying message of Christ in this epic. 10/10
