While some may dismiss it as it’s simply five minutes of a figure applying makeup, I find a lot to love here. The film explores themes of transness, the lead *Travis Cutforth* intimately applies make-up over the course of the film. Water slowly escaping the tap, *drip, drip, drip, *all these feelings want to pour out but the handle is so tightly screwed. It feels like the character isn’t quite ready to reveal this part of themselves, not truly, they’re performing for the camera. They’ve put up a barrier, forced a smile, tightened the handle. Holding these feelings back, and I hope one day, off-camera they’re free to be their true self.
