Hey, it's the swinging sixties and a pre-Bond (and post Saint) Roger Moore is an ad exec? No mind, he's free-wheeling and prone to treat women in the Mad Men vein -- or is he? An early scene suggests he might actually be *way* more committed to work than making it with the ladies, but whatever, listen to that crazy theme song!
Anyway, the story follows a preposterous attempt to find the witness to an assassination plot, the machinations of which entangle our hero in comedy (of a *very* dated kind), mystery (I mean, what the hell is going on here), and action (a lot of running, some really creaky fighting, and, hey, an old timey car chase!).
There are hippies ("What's time, man?"), a Hungarian model (who apparently orders corn on the cob from room service?!?!?), a weapon disguised as another thing, sideburns galore, and, at one point, Moore's character completely fucks up a totally innocent couple's wedding in order to create a diversion. It's also got the least convincing peace march ever (the chant consists of a 'peace peace, peace, peace' delivered at normal speaking volume in monotone) and did I mention corn on the cob from room service? I really cannot get past that, sorry.
All in all, it's nothing special (unless you are into a halfhearted attempt at introducing a running gag about the model always eating), but there are worse ways to spend your time. I guess.
