As if *Cure-era *Kiyoshi Kurosawa directs a Hirokazu Koreeda film by way of Michael Haneke. Tadanobu Asano is incomparable. Has the twists, tragedies, and cruelty of a Greek tragedy and tackles family dynamics with a scalpel sharper than even Ingmar Bergman could’ve ever dreamed of having.
