Okay so, this movie is rather nice. Several of the other reviews I'd read said it was boring or pointless, but I think it added to the general mundanity that Jonathan feels within his life.
I do think that sometimes this film didn't seem to have a direction. I'd compare it to, Paterson, in the fact that it showcases the normal lives of normal people, so there's no need for the absurd. The scenes that dragged on usually found themselves back, and joined the narrative of the film.
I only docked 1.5 stars because I felt that yes, it could have done with a bit more plot within the first thirty minutes. There was some plot, but it was 95% establishing characters and the character dynamics.
Also, I love Jannis Niewöhner, he was very good in Beat, and Cortex.
