It's a bad movie in all the wrong ways. I would gladly trade the okay acting and action for a better story. Obviously it looks like shit and makes absolutely no sense (like it's actively seeking out new ways to be nonsensical and stupid), but the boring ass story is what kills it. There are parts I had to watch multiple times because the movie put me to sleep. How the fuck does a movie about lightning tornados (that seem to be sentient, even if the movie never brings that up) vaporizing cars and eating buildings be so uninteresting? Now, I'm no scientist or meteorologist, nor do I have any solid knowledge of anything involved in the events of this movie (all I have is a college course in meteorology that I took because I liked the professor and three decades living in Tornado Alley), but I don't think things work in real life like they do in this movie. Shit, for all I know they had a team of scientists fact checking every single thing, but I highly doubt it (I'd place the events of this film as only slightly more plausible than those of Sharknado). The thing is, I expected a big, dumb action movie, but what I got instead is Small Farm Town Family Drama. I could not possibly be convinced to give any less of a shit about any of these characters, which would be a real struggle as I could hardly remember who is who and who is who's dad or lover or rival or whatever. Super Storm feels like what we'd get if The Asylum half assed a SyFy Original Movie.
