a rare combination of both smth i've added to letterboxd AND to the internet archive! ( [https://archive.org/details/modelling-me](https://archive.org/details/modelling-me) ) this is an independent made-for-tv film in a project series named "sleepless" by "vertov industries", with other films (which i will look into adding to tmdb and letterboxd) being available on the "hawaii punk museum" youtube channel. theres very little information on this specific instalment online, so mind the barrenness of the page...
this is LADEN with stereotypes and problematic content (in a very "vandemonium plus" way), and VERY guerrilla (in a very "eiyu club" kinda way), which should mean i love it... and i kinda do! it has a lot of charm to it, and the story has definite heart to it. i could relate to the vision issues faced by one of the more major characters, and so her arc was sweet, and the other intersecting stories within the multi strand narrative were well done and interesting. the musical numbers are cute, with a couple actually pretty good songs! the end credits, with the bts, fun facts, and dancing, felt VERY eiyu club actually - esp considering it was done to japanese music. there are issues and jank all over, but thats where its charm lays! the plotlines, though well integrated generally together, came together to form a kind of confusing overall narrative, but oh well! 3 hours of fun, with plenty of faggotry to boot - if you have the time to spare, its worth it!
